Yesterday, the local car wrecking company, came to pickup up my little green 1998 Mercury Tracer to take it to its finally resting place. My son and husband discovered my little car's engine was beyond repairing. Instead of allowing the little
green turtle to be a home for mice and dirt, it was best to sell the car to the wrecking yard. There it can be sold for parts and eventually the metal can be sold. As I watched my little green turtle being loaded onto the wrecker, a sadness came
over me and I found tears forming in my eyes. I usually don't get attached to material things and can usually let go fairly easily. However when it came to this little car, I realized my little green turtle and I have traveled many a mile together.
I started to reminisce about where my car has taken me, my family and my friends safely to and from wrapped in prayer over the years. Whenever I traveled in my little green car I would pray while traveling. I would get into the car, start the engine, buckle
up and reach for my Rosary. Only then could I begin our journey together. I found myself thanking God for blessing me with such a fine, reliable car and for protecting us from all harm as we traveled together over the years. Looking back over the years, I
know without a doubt angels traveled with me and my little green turtle. As the wrecker pulled out of my driveway with the little green turtle safely aboard, I sensed my car, whispering and smiling back at me—Thank you for the memories and
Farewell! I pray that the car's parts and metal would bless other people. The money I received from the little green turtle bought paint and supplies. My son has graciously offered to paint the inside of our home which needs a face lift badly.
He is such an excellent and talented painter with an eye for detail. Me and a paint brush is an adventure with disastrous results---but thats another story to share later. The little green turtle continues to bless our lives. Thank you Father for
helping me to embrace my blessings even amidst a tear or two.
