We are continuing with the face-lift of the interior walls of our home. After the living room walls were complete, I decided to invest in some new curtains as the other
ones were looking a little outdated and didn't really go with the newly painted walls.
I had been looking
for valance curtains for each of the windows for awhile. When I finally found the two valances at JC Penney I was delighted because they were the perfect color and design. I ordered them immediately and was anxiously awaiting the new curtains to be delivered
Friday, I just happened to look out our window and I saw Annie, our dog, chewing on something
in our yard. Now, Annie is a year old and still likes to chew things. I went out to see what it was that held her attend and teeth. To my horror, she had the UPS bag chewed up and was beginning to work on my valance curtains. Needless to say, I was not a happy
camper. Annie knew it and dropped the curtains immediately.
I hurried to the house with my half ripped
open valance curtains, to see what if anything could be salvaged. Fortunately only one of the valance curtains was chewed on. I inspected the damaged curtain, to see if I could repair them. I managed to sew the chewed up areas with my sewing machine and the
damage was not as bad as I had first envisioned.
If I hadn't retrieved the package from her when I did,
I know without a doubt the curtains would have had Annie's seal of approval on them in a million and one pieces which would not even be good enough for the recycle bin.
I am not sure if the UPS driver left the package on the fence or just threw it up on our porch. Annie does not like the UPS truck as it travels down our bumpy road daily because it shacks, rattles and rolls.
In all fairness to Annie, she was just protecting her yard and home from the UPS truck and the 'strange package' that entered her domain.
Since the curtains met Annie's seal of approval, we have renamed the new curtains, Curtains by Annie. The good news is that the valance curtains look quite lovely hanging on our windows.
When little things happen in life that are beyond my control, it reminds me of the saying don't sweat the small stuff
and for the most part it's all small stuff especially when it involves raising Annie.
