“He will cover you with his pinions, and under His wings you will find refuge; His faithfulness is a shield and buckler.” Psalm 91: 4
What is the meaning of the word “pinions?” Pinions is the outer part of a
bird's wing including the flight feathers. From a Scriptural viewpoint, pinions is a figurative expression for the protective care of God which is bestowed on those that trust in Him.
Isn't it reassuring that Jesus is concealing us from the Evil One? As we place our trust in Jesus, He defends and protects us. He guides the humble and teaches us His way.
What a God we serve. We are not left defenseless. We serve a mighty God who hides us under his wing against the flaming arrows of the Evil one. “He will rescue you from the fowler’s
snare, from the destroying plague; He will shelter you with His pinions, and under His wings you may take refuge; His faithfulness is a protecting shield.” Psalm 91.
These are
mighty powerful words to take into our heart and to live by each day.
I want to be in Jesus mighty army and under His leadership. Don't you?
I am safe. I am protected. I am loved. Sign me up, Jesus. I am ready to be your warrior in prayer and in deed.
