"December 17 marks the beginning of the "O" Antiphons an ancient part of our liturgy, dating back to the fourth century, one for each day until Christmas Eve. These antiphons address Christ with
seven magnificent Messianic titles, based on the Old Testament prophecies and types of Christ. The Church recalls the variety of the ills of man before the coming of the Redeemer." ---Catholic Culture
I invite you to pray each day one of these ancient “Antiphons” from December 17 to December 23rd. Each day I will send you these
short Antiphons prayer. They are filled with a longing for our Lord and Savior as we wait for the coming of the Christ child into our hearts and home anew this Christmas.
Here is the Antiphon for today.
O Wisdom, O holy Word of God, you govern all creation with your strong yet tender care: Come and show your people the way to salvation.
O Wisdom of our God Most High, guiding creation with power and love: come to teach us the path of knowledge! O Come, Thou Wisdom, from on high and order all things far and nigh; to us the path of knowledge show and teach us in her ways to go.
