My Reflections On the Psalms

Bigger Than Any Mountain

I was sitting quietly in front of the Blessed Sacrament, trying as best I could to surrender my burdens to him. Suddenly I received a vision in my mind--A gigantic hand and a little fly appeared before me. The fly was very annoying to me and I kept trying to flick it away.

Suddenly the huge hand with a soft touch of a finger flicked the fly away effortlessly. Then I heard Jesus speak in the silence of my heart: This is my hand and this little fly is your burden. Surrender your burdens to me and I will flick them away effortlessly one by one. I am more powerful than all your mountains of problems. Trust in me.

I praise and thank you my God and my King for always reassuring us that you are bigger than our problems and you can accomplish the impossible.

Let us pray: In God I trust, I shall not fear.-Psalm 56:11. Our help is in the name of the Lord who made heaven and earth.-Psalm 124:8 Jesus I surrender my burdens to you this day, take care of everything. I trust in you. Amen.

Remember When

 I remember the deeds of the LORD;
yes, I remember your wonders of old.
And I meditate on your works;
your exploits I ponder.
O God, your way is holy;
what great god is there like our God?
You are the God who works wonders;
among the peoples you have made known your power.
With your strong arm you redeemed your people,
the sons of Jacob and Joseph.
You led your people like a flock
under the care of Moses and Aaron. Psalm 77

Sometimes it is good to look back and remember how the Lord worked in your life in the past and how he answered your prayers beyond what you had hoped for.

When I reflect back on my life and all the difficulties, sorrows, joys, heartaches and challenges I have been through, I am absolutely amazed how God the Father was in the midst of all these happenings bringing me grace upon grace and an ocean of mercy that was endless. The words O but by the grace of God goes I is all I can whisper.

Thank you for your strength when I felt weak. Thank you for your forgiveness and mercy when I decided to Do it my way without your help. Thank you for loving me in the midst of my sins and introducing me to your son through his life, death and resurrection. Thank you Jesus for giving me your Blessed Mother who gently shows me how to be a woman of God, a mother and a wife through her humble obedient love for all her children.

It is good to reflect on the past, especially when we are in the midst of a very difficult challenge today. It is good to know that we can place our trust in God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. Regardless of the present difficulty we know God will led us just like he led the people of Israel. You led your people like a flock under the care of Moses and Aaron.

Let Us Pray: O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!
